The School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia is home to all sorts of volcanological investigations – from developing a fundamental understanding of the drivers of volcanic behaviour to characterising the interactions between volcanoes, the wider environment and society. One of our goals is to reduce the negative impacts of eruptive activity for communities living in the shadow of volcanoes. This means we also collaborate with researchers in the School of International Development to develop better understandings of the communities themselves. This site gives an overview of the science and the scientists at UEA.
